ILAH and HENRY Are Ready to Tackle Another Year

As we all know, the first day of school attire is a big decision. Henry selected his because of the clothes' extreme comfort (a boy after my own heart). Ilah, on the other hand, couldn't wait to sport her Jonas Brothers T-shirt and thought it would look best with her skinny jeans.

1st Day of School

We have survived the first day/week of school, but the mustaches didn't.

Tucker decided a couple of weeks before school started that he and several of his friends needed to wear fake mustaches on the first day if school. He wanted to show the 6th graders that 8th graders had facial hair... After searching on-line, he had me drive him to Hot Topic to purchase a pack of fake mustaches. Then at Open House he distributed the facial hair so his buddies could add it to their first day school attire. Unfortunately the assistant principal and a couple of teachers didn't find it as amusing as I did and made them take their mustaches off before they even entered the school. He didn't dwell on it for long though because football practice started the first day too, and he and Mike are in heaven again.

Tucker Becomes a Star

We had a Court of Honor last Wednesday and Tucker was presented with his Star ranking!

Ilah - Our Entrepreneur

Ilah decided to have a lemonade stand last week. With Mike's help she made lemonade. Then she and her buddy Lydia made brownies and cookies. We set her up on the corner of Lone Elm and Murphy near our house but where there is some traffic. Her stand was open from 4-6 pm Thurs. and Fri., and she made almost $80. People are so nice!

Check out the backsplash/cabinets (okay, and Henry)!

WISDOM TEETH

Taysom (our little chipmunk, or "puffin" as Mike called her) is finally back to normal. She had all four wisdom teeth pulled last Tuesday and has lived to tell the tale.

Football Season :)

Mike took the boys for their yearly physicals this week. As the doctor was looking in Henry's mouth, Mike asked Henry, "What do you think the doctor is looking for in there... maybe a frog?" To which Henry said, "No, I think he is looking for the uvula." The doctor commented, "That's a pretty big word for an 8 year old!"

Last week we had our yearly family dentist visit. During Henry's turn the dentist came out to the waiting room to see if we had heard Henry's comment. Apparently the dentist asked his assistant to give Henry the flouride treatment and Henry didn't respond positively. The dentist said it wasn't that bad- to which Henry replied, "Have YOU tried that stuff???" The dentist was cracking up and told us out in the waiting room that no, he hadn't tried it...

He is always making us smile. He looks pretty tough in his football gear. Tucker and Mike don't start practice until the first day of school.
